Delhi’s popular Durga Puja to promote peace with French-themed festivities

Counted among one of New Delhi’s oldest Durga Puja pandals, Matri Mandir Society is all set to take a stand against terrorism in a rather unique fashion.
The pandal which is renowned for its lavish Durga Puja festivities will reportedly, be turned into the Palais Garnier-a 1,979-seat opera house, built from 1861 to 1875 for the Paris Opera and the Paris Opera Ballet.

Apart from promoting the noble cause of world peace, the Matri Mandir Society will also be marking their golden jubilee celebration of the festival which will reportedly, be held from October 7 to October 11.
The festivities will also include special performances by Bollywood singer Kavita Krishnamurthy and Bengali folk singer Aarko Mukherjee.
